She was the youngest of nine children, three of whom preceded her to the grave. Left to the care of a widowed mother she received her education in the country schools of Iowa, where by her kind genial dispositions she won the admiration and esteem of many who remained her life long friends.

On Feb. 20, 1866 she was united in marriage with Samual Grafft of this place and at once took up her residence in this community, where she had since resided. Of this union were born two children, Dr. John A. Grafft and Mrs. Arthur B. Hunter.

After coming to Ohio to live she united with the Cotton Run Church where she remained a faithful member, taking an active part in both church and Sunday School until services were discontinued here a few years ago, since which time her interest has been in the Presbyterian Church of Jacksonboro.....

She leaves a husband, two children, three grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her departure and cherish her memory.....
