To the union of the Rev. and Mrs. Eicher, thirteen children were born, all of whom are now deceased. The other brothers were Henry and Edward, attorneys at Washington, Iowa, William, a doctor at Peoria, Illinois, Noah a mail clerk at Winfield, David, a fruit grower at Springdale, Arkansas, Ezra, banker at Wayland, and Joe, a farm supervisor at Chillicothe, Missouri. John Eicher operated the creamery at Noble for several years before moving to Springdale, Arkansas where he was engaged in fruit growing for many years. After leaving Arkansas he lived in Des Moines until 1944.

In 1891 he and Glennie Mills were united in marriage at Richland, Iowa. Of this union, two daughters survive: Mrs. J. A. Lewis of Webster Groves, Missouri and Lida Eicher of Des Moines. Following the death of his wife in November, 144, Mr. Eicher moved to Webster Groves, Missouri.

In his early youth he joined the Eicher Church and remained active in all church activities wherever he resided as long as his health permitted.
