Gladys A. Shelman,age 96, of Mt. Pleasant, died
Saturday, October 26 2002 at the Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Visitation for Mrs. Shelman will begin after 12 noon on Tuesday,October 29,at the Olson- Powell
Memorial Chapel in Mt.Pleasant, Iowa where the family will recieve friends from 6:30to 8:00p.m.
that evening. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., On Wednesday, October 20 at the Olson- Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial wiil be in the Spencer Cemetery in Stockport, Iowa.Memorials have been established to Park Place Long Term Care Unit.
Gladys was born on June 1,1906, in Jefferson county, to Henry and Rosa Rivey Danielson. She attended LockridgeHigh School and then transferred to Fairfield High School, graduating in 1923. On April 6,1929 she married V.Fro Shelman
in Monmouth , Illinois. he preceed her in death on Jan 25,1975.
A resident of the Round Prairie area most of her life, Mrs. Shelman was a homemaker. She spent her time caring for her family her entire life. SAhe enjoyed working with flowers and gardening. She was a member the First United methodist Church of Mt. Pleasantand the Glasgow Dorcas Society.
Mrs. Shelamn is survived by one daughter , Loree and her husband Wayne King of Mt. Pleasant; one grandaughterLeanne and her husband Steven Salmeron of Elk Grove, California: two great-grandsons, Cory Stoikovic and Adrian Slameron both of Elk Grove, Calif: and one sister Lucille Blucher of Fairfield, Iowa. She is also survived by two nieces,Agatha and her husband Dale Wehrle
of Salem,Iowa and Aurelie and her husband Floyd Burns of Fairfield, Iowa.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceeded in death by twin infants, Julian and Joan Shelman;one brother Earl Danielson; and one niece, Ethelda West
