WAYLAND RESIDENT TAKEN BY DEATH

Emil F. Stier, 80, passed away at his home at Wayland on Thursday evening about 11 p.m. after an illness of two years with heart trouble and complications. The body was taken to the Stacy Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. E.S. Mullett, pastor of the Wayland Mennonite Church, will conduct the service.

Mr. Stier was born in Leipzeg, Germany, April 17, 1865. He came to the United States at the age of 16 and lived in Burlington for three months and then came to Mt. Pleasant. On February 22, 1893, he married Cora Yount of Mt. Pleasant. They lived north of Mt. Pleasant until 1898 when they moved to Wayland, where they have made their home since then.

His wife and their three daughters survive, Mrs. Ira McBeth of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Everett Lance of Trenton and Mrs. Cletus Ruxlowe of Marshalltown.
