SOLOMON PENNIWILL TAKEN BY DEATH

Solomon Penniwill, nearly 97, died at 8:50 Saturday evening at the home of his son, O.D. Penniwill, where he had made his home in recent years.

He was born in Pickaway county, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1849, and came to Iowa in 1870, where he engaged in the carpenter trade.

Services will be held from St. Alphonsus Catholic church at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning in charge of Rev. J.J. Welsh. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery. Rosary will be recited tonight at 8:00 at the Cookes Funeral Home.

FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR SOLOMON PENNIWILL

Funeral service for Solomon Penniwill was held at St. Alphonsus Catholic church this morning. Requiem High Mass was sung conducted by Rev. J.J. Welch.

Burial was in St. Alphonsus cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: John Watters, Philip Kermeen, Carl Raines, John Lynchard, Charles Dietrick, and Rodney Kephart.
