John H. Roth, 66, 501 West Vine, Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, April 4, 1985 at 11:05 P.M. near Wapello. He was born February 5, 1919 at Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, the son of Alvin and Emma (Roth) Roth. He was married May 11, 1940 at Kahoka, Missouri, to Doris Eicher, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Paul of Wayland; Orie, Omaha, Nebraska; and Marlin, Trenton; one daughter, Mrs. Jane Sutter, Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Roth was a member of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church. A retired farmer of the Swedesburg community, he was a livestock buyer for many years.

Funeral services will be held Monday April 8 at 2 P.M. at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church. The Rev. Eugene Garber and the Rev. Glen Richard will officiate with interment in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 P.M. Sunday at the Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, where friends may call after 2 P.M. A memorial has been established.
