Reuben Frank

Reuben E. Frank, 86, of New London, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born Feb. 4, 1913, in Kingston, he was the son of George and Matilda Dravis Frank. He married Maye Watt in 1935 in Des Moines County. She died in October 1951. He later married Lona Enright on July 13, 1965, in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Frank worked at J.I. Case Co. for 13 years and later worked on Earl J. Edwards' farm for more than 30 years.

He was a member of the Methodist Church in New London. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also loved gardening. In 1982 he and his wife were voted "Fans of the Year" by the New London Wrestling Boosters Program. They never missed a wrestling meet.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Darlene Spraker of West Burlington and Pat Pennebaker of Knoxville; a grandson whom he raised, Ernie Enright of Batavia; one stepdaughter, Karin Enright of Ironton, Mo.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, three sisters and one stepson.

There will be no visitation.

The funeral for Mr. Frank will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Elliott Chapel, New London, with Pastor Jeffrey McPheron officiating. Burial will be in the Burge Cemetery, New London.

A memorial has been established for the New London Rescue Unit.
