Larry W. Richard, 52, of Wayland, died as the result of injuries suffered from an auto accident Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born May 7, 1951, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Oscar and Catherine Yoder Richard. On Dec. 27, 1970, he married Mary Jo Manning.

Mr. Richard owned and operated Richard Oil Co. along with his family.

He was a 1970 graduate of Waco High School. He was a member of Sugar Creek Mennonite Church and the Wayland Volunteer Fire Department for 19 years. Larry was a former City Council member and on the Christmas lighting committee.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Wayland; three daughters, Amy Richard of Wayland, Denise Baldosier of Germanville and Michelle Danker Cantril; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Daniel Richard of Brighton and Dean Richard of Riverside.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Richard will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland, with the Rev. Robert Hartzler officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Parkview Home in Wayland.

Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is in charge of arrangements.
