Mabel M. Lane, 96, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Jan. 1, 1907, in Wayland, she was the daughter of Chris and Mary Richenberger Rich. On Dec. 25, 1929, she married Floyd Lane in Mount Pleasant. He died Jan. 2, 1982.

Mrs. Lane was a homemaker. She also worked at Shafer Pen in Mount Pleasant for many years.

She was a member of Congregational Universalist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Franklin Rich of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.

The funeral for Mrs. Lane will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beatty Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Tweed officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Congregational Universalist Church.
