Robert "Bob" G. Ritz, 69, of Wayland, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Henry County Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

Born Nov. 26, 1932, near Fairfield, he was the son of Guy E. and Edna Roberts Ritz. On Aug. 19, 1950, he married Ella Louise Crafton in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. Ritz farmed, drove a truck and retired from Blue Bird after working there for 21 years.

Survivors include his wife ; three daughters, Brenda Alliman and Sandie Clark, both of Wayland, and Connie Stafford of Winfield; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Don Ritz and Rich Davison, both of Mount Pleasant, Dale Ritz of Bonaparte, Ron Roberts, Gary Roberts and Danny Gill, all of Brighton, John Roberts of Jones, Okla., and Terry Roberts of Kendallville, Ind.; and 10 sisters, Jan Holt and Lois Doyle, both of Lebanon, Mo., Carol Bucher of Willow Springs, Mo., Marty Swanson of Goodman, Wis., Patty Cornell of Buena Vista, Ark., Bert Turner, Melva Howell and Arlene Hauser, all of Washington, Kaye Blanchard of Oskaloosa and Vicky Wallace of Leesville, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Ritz will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Wayland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Wayland Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Wayland Methodist Church and Wayland First Responders.
