Marjory Eloise Rich, 88, of Mount Pleasant, died at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Nov. 26, 1913, near Salem, she was the daughter of Jesse and Maud Pickard Frary. She married William Edward Rich on Feb. 23, 1955. He died March 7, 1996.

Mrs. Rich was a graduate of Salem High School and was a country school teacher. She farmed with her husband in the Mount Union, Wayland and Mount Pleasant communities.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the church circles. She lived at the care center since July 5, 2000.

She is survived by her son, Jack, of Johnston, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.

The funeral for Mrs. Rich will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Edward Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Salem East Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Pleasant Manor Care Center.
