Lois Edna Parker, 79, of rural Wayland, died of an apparent heart attack Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born July 22, 1923, in Center Township (rural Mount Pleasant), she was the daughter of Howard Sadoras and Minnie Etna Said Welch. On Aug. 9, 1942, she married Delbert Dale Parker in Kahoka, Mo.

Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and assisted her husband on their farm.

She was a 1940 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzle books. She loved to play cards, especially canasta.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gerald Parker of Donnellson and Dale Parker of LaFayette, Ga.; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter in infancy, one grandson and one stepgrandson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral for Mrs. Parker will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Weir Funeral Home, with Jerry Klopfenstein officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Lois and Delbert's home, 1565 Benton Ave., following the committal service.

A memorial has been established for Wayland First Responders Unit.
