Geneva Boshart, 93 of Wayland, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Parkview Home in Wayland.

Born Nov. 24, 1908, in Wayland, she was the daughter of Daniel W. and Mary "Mollie" Gerig Orendorff. On Jan. 1, 1931, she married Alvin Boshart in Wayland. He died Aug. 17, 1975.

Mrs. Boshart was a homemaker.

She spent her life in the Wayland area. She was a 1926 graduate of Wayland High School. She was a member of Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, where she served as president of the Sewing Circle, taught Sunday school and served on the food committee. She also enjoyed quilting and reading.

Survivors include one son, D. Norman Boshart of Wayland; two daughters, Virginia Van Wyngarden of Des Moines and Lu Ann Ladwig of Sandwich, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Sunday at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Boshart will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, with Pastor Roger Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Parkview Home and Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.

Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant is in charge of the arrangements.
