Alta Ruth Krabill, 77, of the White Oak Community, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Dec. 27, 1923, west of Trenton, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Jessie Hill Christner. On Dec. 27, 1939, she married Emerson Krabill at Eicher Mennonite Church Parsonage.

Mrs. Krabill lived in the White Oak community and helped raise the family and farmed with her husband.

She was a member of Trenton Missionary Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, embroidery, quilting and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Larry Krabill and Kenneth Krabill, both of Mount Pleasant, and James Krabill of rural Wayland; one daughter, Manlyn Reichman of St. Paul, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Archie Christner of the White Oak area; and one sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Krabill will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trenton Missionary Church in Trenton, with the Rev. Glen Richards officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Trenton Missionary Church and White Oak Cemetery.
