Funeral Held for Mrs. Belle Brown

Salem- Many of this community were grieved to hear of the death of Mrs. Belle Brown, a life resident of Denova and Salem communities. For the past year she had been employed in Salem where she won many friends through her congenial ways.

The funeral services were held at the Friends church Thursday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. Mrs. Bessie Collins assisted by the Rev. J.E. McCracken officiated and music was by Cedar Creek Friends church, mixed quartette of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brown, Mrs. Bert Jay and Harry Cooper, accompanied by Mrs. Lois Hallowell.

Interment was in the Cedar Creek Friends cemetery and the following nephews were the pallbearers: Earl Stringer, Francis Trueblood, Everett Trueblood, E.R. McDowell, Delbert Kerr, and Arthur McDowell.

Ollie Belle Brown, daughter of Charles and Anna Harminson was born Dec. 21, 1887, in Henry county and passed away Oct. 21, 1947 at the Memorial hospital, Mt. Pleasant, aged 59 years and 8 months.

Belle Harminson was united in marriage with George Brown, June 14, 1906. To this union, two sons, were born, Ogden and Keith.

She is survived by her sons, Ogden and Keith of Salem, grand-daughters, Priscill and Patricia Brown, stepdaughter, Zella Knowles of Bremerton, Wash., one brother, Clifford Harminson of Knoxville; sisters, Viola Trueblood, Mae Stringer, Flossie McDowell and Pearl Kerr, all of Salem vicinity, and Eva McDowell of Burlington. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive. Mrs. Brown was a member of Cedar Creek Friends church, Friendly Helpers Sunday school class of Salem Friends church, Denova WCTU and Salem Woman's club.
