Bert Lamm Dies in Arizona

Word was received here Wednesday that Nathan Albert "Bert" Lamm of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away at the South Side General Hospital in Mesa, Ariz., Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. His death was caused by pneumonia and complications.

Mr. Lamm was born March 1, 1903 at Denova, Ia., the son of A.H. Lamm and Mary Belle (Elliott) Lamm.

The body is scheduled to arrive in Eldon, Ia., at 6 a.m. Saturday and will be brought to Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at the Cookes-Lunning Home Sunday afternoon, the hour to be announced later. Burial will be in Forest Home cemetery.

He had moved to Arizona four years ago and was employed by the J.C. Penney Company in Mesa prior to his illness. When he lived in Mt. Pleasant he operated the Lamm's Grocery Store on North Adams Street. Before that he had been employed in Winfield for about twenty years.

His wife who survives him is the former Mabel Wheeler of Winfield. There were no children.

Other survivors include his father, A.H. Lamm of Los Angeles, Calif., and the following brothers and sisters: Rex A. Lamm, Harold E. Lamm, Delbert C. "Bill" Lamm, Mrs. Maurice Wilson of Peoria, Ill., Walter D. "Perk" Lamm of Fairfield, Robert K. "Pinky" Lamm of Mt. Pleasant, George LeRoy Lamm of Peoria, Ill., Ralph M. Lamm of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Estyl Lamm of Peoria.

His mother preceded him in death May 24, 1948, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Lamm Hester, in December 1941.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
