Ada P. Kindig, 85, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mount Pleasant.
Born Jan. 15, 1916, in Wayland, she was the daughter of David and Naomi Kinney Rich. On Sept. 5, 1942, she married Lloyd Kindig in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 4, 1968.
Mrs. Kindig was a homemaker and worked in housekeeping at the Henry County Health Center from 1970 to 1987.
She grew up in the Wayland community and graduated from Wayland High School. She enjoyed quilt making and embroidering, growing flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of White Oak United Trenton Missionary Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Kindig Sr., Stephen Kindig and Philip Kindig, all of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Pamela Kindig of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Minnie Peterson of Mount Pleasant.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, five sisters and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Kindig will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Olson-Powell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dwayne Hulett officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for White Oak Cemetery, White Oak Chapel Building Fund and the American Cancer Society.
