Marvin G. Hole, 58, Wayland, died December 8, 1997 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, after a sudden illness.

Mr. Hole was born April 15, 1939 in Kalona to Willard and Sylbia (Maxwell) Hole. He graduated from West Chester High School and married Sharon Wallace on July 9, 1961, in Crawfordsville. He was a Wayland resident for the past twelve years. Retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 20 years. He was a correctional officer at the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility. He was a member of the VFW in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include: a son Bryan Hole of Wellman; two daughters, Leslie Hole of Wayland and Joni Hole of Independence, Mo; a brohter, Ralph Hole of Colorado; six sisters, Ruth Dodson and Irene Bodkins, both of West Chester, Melba Kane and Retha Hole, both of Arizona, Marlene Long of Washington and Edith Potter of Davenport; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1996, and a sister.
