Gertrude Holcomb(Mt. Pleasant, Ia) Born: 4/26/1911(Wapello County, Ia) died: 10/30/1997(HCHC, Mt. Pleasant, Ia) Parents: Grant and Amy (Sedore) Thomas Married: Clarence Holcomb on 2/11/1931 at Ottumwa, Ia(he preceded her in death on 5/4/1990) She was raised in the Eldon area and lived her adult life on farms in the Jefferson and Wapello Co(s).

Surviving: five sons: Clarence Jr.(Mt Union, Ia), Harry Mathew (Clinton, Mo) Grant(Florence, Ariz.) Jimmy(Fairfield, Ia) and Jackie(Rochester, Ind.) six daughters: Trudy Hay (Mt. Pleasant, Ia) Thelma White(Iowa City, Ia), Velma Hummell (Burlington, Ia), Mabel Hart (Ottumwa, Ia), Sarah Schmidt (Mt. Pleasant, Ia) and Martha Filson (Birmingham, Ia). Four brothers: Wilber(Aurora, Colo.), Hillary(New Bloomfield, Mo.), Noah (Des Plaines, Ill.), and Albert (Eldon, Ia.) one sister: Lucille Kaulrich (Centerville, Ia) (preceded in death by parents, husband, two brothers,(Alvin and Clarence) two sisters (Ethal Harwood and Mae Thomas) and two infant sisters. Internment in Packwood Cemetary, Packwood, Ia.
