Ollie Pauline Allen, 94, of Winfield died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.

Born Sept. 16, 1910, in Winfield, she was the daughter of David and Clara Skipton Hess. On Oct. 15, 1929, she married Guy Allen in Mount Pleasant. He died Nov. 25, 1995.

Mrs. Allen helped on the farm and also worked as a telephone operator, at Oregon Dry Goods and Weber Dry Goods in Winfield and retired from Ralph's Big Value Grocery in Winfield.

She was a graduate of Winfield High School. She was a member of Winfield First Presbyterian Church and Winfield American Legion Auxiliary 643. She was a former member of TTT and the Past Chiefs.

Survivors include one daughter, Patty Cummings of Burlington; one granddaughter; four great–granddaughters; one sister, Nelle Lindell of Winfield; four nieces; and five nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, three stepbrothers, one grandson, one niece and two nephews.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to the time of service Tuesday at Winfield First Presbyterian Church.

The funeral for Mrs. Allen will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Winfield First Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Patte Henderson and Richard Gorham officiating. Burial will be in Winfield–Scott Township Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Sunrise Terrace.
