Salem Weekly News – April 27, 1922

On April 7, 1922, Mrs. Minerva Woodworth of Portland, Oregon passed to her reward. The estimable woman was born in Trumansburg, New York, March 29, (year is illegible). She became the bride of Mr. Abel Woodworth of that place. Ten years later they, with their children, Estelle and Milo G., moved to Salem, Iowa and for 30 years were identified with everything that was for the betterment of the community, being especially interested in the development and improvement of the Baptist church. Another worthy cause near her heart was the Orphans Home at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mr. Woodworth passed away in 1894 and five years later she lost her son, Milo, who, with his family, were residing in California. Since then she has made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Bartlett, where she received every care in her last home, as everywhere she had many warm friends and admirers.

The funeral was held at Gabel’s Undertaking Parlors, concluding services at the Portland Crematorium and her ashes will be sent to Salem for burial beside her husband.
