Barbara,
I checked the 1910 US Census for Iowa, Hardin County, Alden. . .
Johnson, Fred C., 43 yrs, married 5 years, from Denmark as well as the parents. Record shows Fred immigrated to the U.S. in 1891. He was a farmer.
Bertha, 26 yrs, married 5 years, from Norway as well as the parents. Record shows she immigrated to the U.S. in 1909.
John, son, 3 yrs old, born IA
Arthur, son, 2 yrs old, born IA
Florence, dau, 1 yrs old, born IA
Peter H., brother, 49 yrs old, immigrated to U.S. in 1886, occupation: tiler
Also living in the household:
Tungesvic, Lora (?), sister-in-law, 13 years old, born in Norway as were parents, immigrated in 1909.Lars (?), brother-in-law, 10 years old, born in Norway as were parents. Immigated to U.S. 1909.
They migrated to Minnesota, Cottonwood Co., Lakeside for the 1920 US Census.
Do you think they may have been married in the "old" country and immigrated to America when Fred was settled? Just a guess.
Laura
P.S.: There is a Thorg (?) Tungesvic and family listed in the 1910 Alden census.
