I am in search of any and all information you could help me with on my family name SILLS.
I recently located the 1880 Union Twp., Hardin County, IA Census for my GRx2 Grandfather, Samuel SILLS and GRx2 Grandmother, Eleanor (nee REDDEN) SILLS.
They are both buried in the Radcliffe Cemetery in Sherman Twp., Hardin County, IA.
Samuel SILLS was born: 30/APR/1837 in Fredricks- burg, Lennox & Addington Counties, Ontario, Canada and married Eleanor REDDEN on 29/MAR/1859 in Ontario, Canada. Eleanor was born 05/MAR/1837 in Loughborough Twp., Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada. The death date for Samuel is 29/MAR/1904 in Hardin County, IA.
Eleanor has a stone, but no death information. I am assuming that she possibly remarried. I have no information on to whom or when/where.
Samuel and Eleanor had 5 children in 1880. They are : Samuel J. (Jr.) b. 1861/d. 1901, Ella b. 1863, Anna b. 1867, Almeda b. 1872/d. 1947 and my Grandfather, Wilson Harley b. 1875.
The first three children were born in Canada, and the last two were born in IL. Please help me to locate any and all information on my family.
Many Thanks!
Best Regards,
