In Response To: Early Settlers (Jan Haan)

There was some lapping over between Hardin County and Grundy County. We found a census for Martin and Anna Spieker Dahlmann in the 1880 census for German Township, Grundy County. My grandmother was born later that year and then another daughter was born in 1882. At some point Anna died and Martin remarried. We have not been able to find out where Anna is buried. To be honest I have not checked the 1885 census or the 1890 census for them. I'll do that and then make another inquiry. There is a possibility they lived in Hardin County.
