DUMONT—Kathryn Evans, 96, of Dumont died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, of natural causes at Rockwell Care Center in Rockwell. Funeral services are Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Dumont with the Rev. Terra Amundson officiating. Burial will follow in Dumont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Dumont.

Kathryn was born Aug. 17, 1908, in rural Dumont to Frederick and Jennie (Ubben) Miller. She graduated from Dumont High School in 1927. On Oct. 18, 1929, she was united in marriage with Donald Evans in Owatonna, Minn. Kathryn was a homemaker and an active member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. She was a Gold Star Mother and enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with her family.

Survivors include daughter Dawn and husband Wendell Thomas of Rockwell; three grandchildren, including James and wife Melia Thomas of Rockwell; and four great-grandchildren, including Cody and Sierra Thomas of Rockwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Donald Duane; five brothers and six sisters.
