Wilma M. Tjepkes

Wilma M. Tjepkes, age 90 of Ackley, passed away Jan. 26, 2005 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. She was born April 19, 1914 in Ackley, the daughter of August and Rosa (Schultz) Carstens.

She was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, and graduated from Ackley High School in 1932.

She married John Tjepkes on April 16, 1941 in Holland, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter Jean (Merlin) Meyer of Ackley; granddaughter Ginger (Jeff) Clawson of Ackley; grandsons Lance (Deanne) Meyer of Ackley and Mitchell (Holly) Meyer of Iowa Falls; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.

Funeral services were held Jan. 29, 2005 at St. John’s UCC in Ackley, with pastor Mary Stonebraker officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley.

The Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of the arrangements.
