August 21, 1914-February 9, 2005

HAMPTON—Luella M. (Draeger) Dodd, 90, of Hampton died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at her home of natural causes. Funeral services are Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Hampton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry R. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery.

Luella was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Franklin County, the daughter of William E. and Cora L. (Frashier) Ballhagen. She attended schools in Dumont and Bristow. On Sept. 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Draeger in Elkader. Lawrence passed away in 1987. Luella married Harold Dodd on May 28, 1994, in Hampton. Luella was a homemaker and worked at the B&B grocery store bakery in Hampton. She was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church and active in the Hampton Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking.

Survivors include husband Harold of Hampton; two sons, Larry and wife Sue Draeger of Iowa City and Charles and wife Joann Draeger of Austin, Minn.; two step-sons, Dennis Dodd of Forest City and Dean and wife Jean Dodd of Hampton; step-daughter Mary and husband Jon Weber of Palmer; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lawrence; a daughter, Cindy Lou; four brothers and two sisters.

Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton is in charge of the arrangements.
