IOWA FALLS-Harold L. Meyer, 88, of Iowa Falls died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls with Rev. Kenneth Krueger officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
Harold was born May 26, 1915, to Louis and Louise (Helvig) Meyer at the family farm in Iowa Falls. He attended rural school at Iowa Falls. On May 26, 1972, he was married to Deloris Olk at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls. Harold was a farmer and a mechanic. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls, and served as elder, financial secretary and head usher. He worked with clocks and made rugs. Playing golf, pool and horseshoes, in addition to bowling, rollerskating and travel were among his favorites.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris; three daughters, Janet Weibrecht of West Des Moines, Kim Whitmore and husband Gene of Iowa Falls and Constance Moehlman and husband Michael of Iowa Falls; three sons, Lee Meyer and wife Debbie of Fairfax, Douglas Meyer of Denver, Colo., and Mark Nicholson of Hampton; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Estella; two daughters, Clarine Rater and Jane Elkin; a grandson, Robert Meyer; a sister, Marjorie Meyer; and an aunt and uncle, Christina and August Meyer.
Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
