HAMPTON - Eleanor L. Anderson, 87, of Hampton died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton. Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Hampton United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery.
Eleanor was born April 2, 1916, at Hampton to William and Loetta (Klousia) Shaefer. She was educated in the Hampton High School and went on to graduate from Iowa State Teachers' College in Cedar Falls with a teaching degree. In 1948, Eleanor was married to Carl Hutt in Omaha, Neb. She was united in marriage to Wilmer Anderson in 1976 in Hampton. Eleanor was a teacher for 31 years, employed the last 18 years by the Hampton Community School District in the elementary department. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, H.O.A. Club, S.O.S. Club and the K.Y.C. Mothers' Club.
Survivors include her husband, Wilmer Anderson of Hampton; one son, Bill Hutt of Iowa City; two stepsons, Bryan Anderson and wife Valerie of Hampton and Jim Hutt and wife Bev of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two stepdaughters, Barb Heilskov and husband John of Hampton and Carleen Cypert and husband Bill of West Covina, Calif.; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Carl Hutt; and one stepdaughter, Delores Duinkerkin.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
