OWASA - Margaret Joan Trampe, 74, of rural Owasa died at her home on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Steamboat Rock with Pastor Harrison Lippert officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Township Cemetery, rural Owasa. A memorial fund has been established.
Margaret was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Steamboat Rock to Hie and Minnie (Harms) Folkerts. She received her education in Steamboat Rock, and graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1947. On Nov. 16, 1951, Margaret was united in marriage to William E. Trampe in Steamboat Rock. She was employed by Barnard Implement and Owasa Cooperative Elevator Co. as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1999. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was active in the Dorcas Society and needlecraft club. Bowling, cooking, baking and canning were among her favorites, in addition to being with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, William; one son, William Trampe and wife Sandy of Steamboat Rock; one daughter Retta Mitchell and husband Michael of Sac City; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Dean Folkerts and wife Eleanor of Barron, Wis., and Harold Folkerts and wife Audrey of Eldora; one sister-in-law, Marlene Blaeske and husband Bill of Eldora; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Trampe and wife Joan of Waukesha, Wis., and Gordon Trampe of Springville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Eunice Folkerts.
Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
