ELDORA - John A. Graff, 93, of Eldora died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splettt officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Iowa Falls.
John was born Jan. 10, 1910, near Geneva to Andrew and Alma (Kloetzer) Graff. He attended country school at Maysville near Geneva. On June 18, 1936, John was united in marriage to Delores Trost. The couple farmed near Geneva, raising livestock and horses. They moved to Eldora in 1982 following John's retirement. He was a former member of Grant Center Lutheran Church, rural Iowa Falls, and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Eldora.
Survivors include four daughters, Joan Whitten and husband John of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jean Gehrke of Eldora, Janet Bloomfield and husband Butch of Sparks, Nev., and Julie Sturm and husband Gary of Eldora; two sons, Dennis Graff and wife Velda of Reynolds, Neb., and Andrew Graff and wife Mary of Geneva; one sister, Martha Heimbuch of Mason City; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Delores; granddaughter, Amy Graff; five sisters, Dorothy Heinzeroth, Minnie Meyer, Helen Muessigman, Bertha Graff and Frieda Graff; and one brother, Andrew Graff.
