RADCLIFFE - Regina Marie Ferguson, 87, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Colonial Manor in Zearing. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 17, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Radcliffe with Pastor Dana Williams officiating. Burial was in the Radcliffe Cemetery.
Regina was born Oct. 14, 1916, to Carl and Ollie (Garret) Bales in Green Castle, Mo. Her family moved to Eldora when she was young, and it was in Eldora that she received her education. On July 1, 1938, Regina was united in marriage to Muriel (M.R.) Ferguson in Yuma, Ariz. The couple traveled the southern states, as Fergie was foreman for Rural Electric Association (R.E.A.), installing highline across the states to the west coast. In 1943, they moved to Radcliffe, where Regina worked for the Chatterbox Cafe, Swede Thorson's Drive-In, Iowa State University in Ames and the food department of the Eldora Hospital. She also served as janitor at the Methodist Church and was caretaker for her parents. Regina was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Radcliffe, where she had been involved in United Methodist Women and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 317 of Radcliffe.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Adolph, and husband Robert of Kimball, Minn.; one son, George of the Maple Manor Care Center of Aplington; four grandchildren, Kenneth and Teresa Ferguson of Nevada and Ray and Jerry Adolph of Kimball; and three great-grandchildren, Tabrie, Magen and Abbey Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Frankie Ford; and two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Bales.
Boeke Funeral Home of Radcliffe was in charge of arrangements.
