WEBSTER CITY/KAMRAR - Anna Janes, 97, of Iowa Falls, and formerly of the Webster City, Williams and Kamrar area, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. Funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Church, Kamrar. Burial will be at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kamrar. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of her daughter, Margie Tjarks, 1908 Custer, Iowa Falls, IA 50126.
Anna was born Nov. 5, 1906, at Kamrar, the daughter of Cornelious C. and Tempka (Van Langen) Naber. She attended the Kamrar Community Schools. On Sept. 12, 1928, she was united in marriage to Ollie "Dutch" Janes at Kamrar. Anna farmed with her husband near Kamrar and then southeast of Williams. She retired to Webster City. She was a member of the Community Church, Kamrar.
Survivors include her children, daughters Margie Tjarks and husband Donald of Iowa Falls, Ruth Silvest of Radcliffe and Ilene Draper and husband Dwayne of Webster City; a son, Merlin Janes and wife Ver Jean of Alden; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Gladys Naber and Judith Naber both of Webster City, Stella Spieker of Iowa Falls, Helen Janes of Webster City and Ella Janes of Britt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Jennie Naber; her husband; three brothers, Gerit, William and Oltman Naber; three sisters, Grace Vandeventer, Lena Peterson and Ollie Klaver; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Janes and Elsie Janes; and one son-in-law, Raymond Silvest.
Linn's Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
