ELLSWORTH - Elizabeth "Betty" Ostebee, 80, of Ellsworth died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. A mass was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams.
Betty was born June 11, 1923, to Edward and Katherine (Vierkamp) Wilmer in rural Hamilton County. She farmed west of Alden. On Dec. 29, 1971, she was united in marriage to Orval Ostebee and moved to rural Ellsworth. Betty was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. Music, farming and her family were her main interests. Betty participated annually in the Neil Miller Steam Engine Show at Alden.
Survivors include her husband, Orval; one sister, Mary Wilmer, of Ellsworth; and eight nieces and nephews, including Patty Lord and husband Ted of Iowa Falls and John Wilmer and wife Sandy of Parkersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one great-niece.
