ELDORA - Eva R. Starn, 82, of Eldora died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls while under the care of Hospice of North Iowa. Following cremation, memorial services were held Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with Pastor Anne Lippincott of the First United Methodist Church in Eldora officiating. Burial was in the Eldora City Cemetery.
Eva was born April 22, 1921, near New Providence to Frank and Bessie (Stewart) Lyman. She attended the New Providence school system and remained in the Eldora-New Providence area her entire life. On May 9, 1937, she was united in marriage to Edd Starn in Grundy Center. Eva enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, David Starn and wife Carlotta (C.J.) of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Phyllis Riekena and husband Larry of Iowa Falls; three brothers, Jim Lyman of Iowa Falls, Everett Lyman and wife Edna of New Providence and Franklin Lyman of Columbia, S.C.; special friend, Chuck Mason of Eldora; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, Edd; her parents; one brother and one sister in infancy; three sisters, Iva Mae Winters, Peggy Waldo and Opal Horning; and one brother, Evan Lyman.
