APLINGTON - Margaret Tack, 94, of Aplington died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Maple Manor Care Center in Aplington. Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Hitesville Gospel Hall, rural Aplington, with Robert Orr officiating. Burial was in the Hitesville Cemetery.

Margaret was born on Feb. 16, 1909, in Emdem, Germany. She migrated with her family as a small child to the United States. Margaret received her education from a country school near Allison. On Dec. 25, 1934, she was united in marriage with Harvey Tack in Kansas City, Mo. The couple farmed in the Ackley and Aplington area. They retired in 1970, and made their home in Aplington. Margaret enjoyed the fellowship at Hitesville Gospel Hall. She enjoyed embroidery work, gardening, flowers, cooking and baking.

Survivors include one brother, Warner Sluiter and wife Elizabeth of Parkersburg; two sisters, Bena Walters of Allison and Fannie Leerhoff of Parkersburg; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Tack of Grundy Center and Kenneth Tack and wife Beulah of Wellsburg; and one sister-in-law, LaVerne Tack of Wellsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; her parents; one sister, Anna Spieker; and three brothers, Adolph, Henry and Grant Sluiter.

Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel of Aplington was in charge of arrangements.
