ARLINGTON, Va - Avonelle June Leino, 91, of Arlington, Va., formerly of Alden, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va. Graveside services will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at the Alden Cemetery with Rev. Rick Layman officiating. There will be no visitation.

Avonelle was born July 23, 1912, in Popejoy to Wilson and Mina (Trousdale) Jaques. She graduated from the Popejoy High School. Avonelle and Leo T. Leino were married in Washington, D.C. She was employed by Scripts-Howard Newspapers, retiring in 1972. Avonelle was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Arlington and Rainbow Circle.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Annie Jaques of Silver Spring, Md., two nieces, Charlotte Jaques Salmin of Northport, N.Y., and Barbara Waite-Jaques of Silver Spring, Md.; and one nephew, Robert P. Callens and wife Susan of Orange Beach, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; twin brother, Alvin T. Jaques; and one nephew, Edward Trousdale Jaques.

Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
