HOLLAND - Arvilla F. Aalfs, 81, of Holland died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at her home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Holland Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Gary Nibbelink officiating. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery in Holland.
Arvilla was born June 9, 1922, to Tom and Mary (Venenga) Dreesman at her parents' home in Grundy County. She attended country school at Palerma No. 4 in Grundy County. On Nov. 26, 1942, she was married to Harm L. Aalfs at Holland, making their home in the Holland area. Arvilla was a homemaker, sales clerk and seamstress who enjoyed cooking and bird watching. She was a member of the Holland Christian Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school and was involved with the Ladies Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Harm; two sons, Michael and wife Marlene of Gladbrook and Terry and wife Debra of Wellsburg; five grandchildren, including Jennifer Rose and husband Chad of Steamboat Rock; six great-grandchildren; one sister; and two sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home of Grundy Center is in charge of arrangements.
