ACKLEY - Clyde Morris Chantrill, 70, of The Colony, Texas, formerly of Ackley, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. Memorial services will be Friday, Sept. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley with Rev. Mary Stonebraker officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley. There will be no visitation.

Clyde was born Jan. 23, 1933, at Iowa Falls to Fred and Viola (Holsclaw) Chantrill. He graduated from Iowa Falls High School. Clyde served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division, where he had completed 18 jumps with the Screaming Eagles. On March 3, 1957, he was united in marriage to Josephine Mulder at Ackley. He was employed by the city of The Colony as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine of The Colony, Texas; three daughters, Connie Stubbe and husband Terry of Ackley, Cyndi Chantrill of Frisco, Texas, and Tammy Lawver and husband Eric of Richardson, Texas; four grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Schluter and husband Vernon of Nora Springs; and two brothers, Richard Chantrill and wife Lucille of South Portland, Maine, and Jim Chantrill and wife Roma. He was preceded in death by his parents, and twin grandchildren, Alvin and Jennie Lawver.

Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley is in charge of arrangements.
