MESA, Ariz.-Alvin D. Madole, 77, of Mesa, Ariz., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003. Visitation and services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2, with burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Mesa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society. Cards may be sent to the family at: 257 South Spencer, Mesa, AZ 85204.

Alvin was born March 27, 1926, in Iowa Falls to Glenn "Pete" and Freda Madole. He was raised in Iowa Falls and graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1944. He attended Ellsworth Community College. Al worked at the United States Post Office in Iowa Falls.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley B. Madole, formerly of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Julie Arms, of Salt Lake City, Utah; son Michael Madole of Mesa; two brothers Gordon of Mt. Home, Ark., and Marlyn and wife Shirley A. Madole of Mt. Pleasant; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Lynette Ann; and older brother, Kenny Madole.
