SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Joan D. Eilers, 81, of Springfield Mo., died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Maranatha Manor in Springfield, Mo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, at 1 p.m. in the Nave of 1st and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Mo. Interment will be Friday, Aug. 1, at Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls, following graveside services at 11 a.m.

Joan was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Eldora to Clair and Edna Doan. She was an accomplished pianist and organist, teaching publicly and privately for most of her life. Joan taught music in the Iowa public schools and was a church organist for many years at First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. She enjoyed the symphony and classical music.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Rita Ingebritson, of Springfield Mo.; and Gail, of Waterloo; two sisters Jean, and her husband Glen Newman, of Columbia, S.C.; and Gloria Doan, of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Ingebritson; her parents; and a brother, Ravelle W. Doan.
