IOWA FALLS-Esther Virgilia McEvoy, 90, of Iowa Falls died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. Services were held Monday, March 17, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls with Father Jim Dubert officiating. Burial was at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Coulter.

Esther was born Sept. 7, 1912, at McHenry, N.D., to Wilihelm and Ingeborg Karlsbraaten Larson. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1930 and attended Ellsworth College and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, receiving her teaching certificate. She taught country school for four years and Sept. 4, 1935, married Anthony McEvoy at Kansas City, Mo. Esther worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for the State Saving and Loan in Hastings, Neb., after she was married. She was a member of St. Mark's parish and the church guild.

She is survived by a son, Tony, and wife Carolyn of Wayne, Neb.; a daughter, Ann, of Garden Grove, Calif.; two grandchildren, Anthony McEvoy and wife Janet of Des Moines and Stacey Baalman and husband Steve of Topeka, Kan.; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers.

Linn's Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
