ELDORA: Anna M. Pixler, 84, of Eldora, formerly of Steamboat Rock, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg with burial in Shiloh Cemetery, Wellsburg. Pastor Ron Weimer will officiate.
Anna was born July 6, 1918, in Grundy Center to Ubbe and Augusta Anderson Peters. She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1937 and on July 6, 1940, she married Harry Pixler at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They moved to Steamboat Rock where they lived until 1974 when they moved to Eldora. She lived in Eldora until moving to the Grundy Care Center in 1999. Anna was a member of the Steamboat Rock Legion Auxiliary and a former member of the Eldora Christian Church. Anna and her husband enjoyed traveling and she enjoyed playing cards and baking.
She is survived by two sons, Virgil Pixler and wife Ann of Waterloo and Gordon Pixler and wife Mary of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Harriet Petersen, and husband Bob of Stillwater, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; and two sisters, Ruby Peters and Viola Uhlken.
