HAMPTON: Marvin L. Pandil, 71, of Hampton died at his home Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002. Services were held Monday, Dec. 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. John Anderson officiated.
Marvin was born Aug. 6, 1931, at Ft. Dodge to John and Jergena Nielsen Pandil. He graduated from Hampton High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. On July 31, 1960, he married Betty Schmitt in Hampton. He worked as a butcher at B & W Grocery Store and at Marv's Meat Market in Hampton. Marvin was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed remodeling homes and doing wood working.
He is survived by a daughter, Becky Laipple, and husband Mark of Hampton; a son, Terry Pandil, of Hampton; a sister-in-law, Marlene Pandil, of Humboldt; two brothers, Junior Pandil of Dows and Melvin Pandil of Mesa, Ariz.; four sisters, Velma Pandil, Alethea Imerman and Dorothy Abbas all of Hampton and Genevieve Borcherding of Latimer; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a grandson Patrick and one brother, Roger.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
