IOWA FALLS-Rosemary Denny McCord, 79, of Iowa Falls, formerly of Alden, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Memorial Church of Christ in Alden with burial in the Alden Cemetery. Rev. Bob Miller will officiate.
Rosemary was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo., to Thomas and Verne Mayo Denny. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, worked at the Bell Telephone Company and at the Pentagon during World War II. On Oct. 11, 1944, she married Francis McCord in Des Moines. Rosemary worked in Iowa Falls for over 30 years including as a secretary and manager of the Hardin-Franklin County Mutual Insurance Company. She was a past president of the Iowa Falls Chamber of Commerce and past matron of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one son, Dr. James McCord and wife JoAnn of Fort Dodge; two daughters, Janice McArthur and husband Robert of Springville and Helen Gilmore and husband Kent of Spirit Lake; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Wegener of Woodburn, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis, in 2001; a brother, Robert Denny; and a sister, Doris Beal.
Surls Funeral Home in Alden is in charge of arrangements.
