SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-Eunice E. (Toots) Simon, 75, of Nixa, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Springfield, Mo. Funeral services and burial were in Springfield with Rev. Greg Coop officiating.

Eunice was born June 24, 1927, to Alex and Marjorie Underwood at Alden. She attended school and graduated from Alden Community School. In July 1957 she married Merle Simon in Minneapolis, Minn.

Survivors include her husband, Merle; three daughters, Cynthia Geariety of Coon Rapids, Minn., Joanne and husband Albert Halling of Apple Valley, Minn., Michelle and husband Brad Coop of Isanti, Minn.; six sons, Robert Van Bergen and wife Beth of Shakopee, Minn., James Van Bergen of Amelia, Va., Thomas Van Bergen and wife Channey of Hoopa, Calif., Jeffrey Simon of Monticello, Minn., Todd Simon of Nixa, Mo., and Charles Simon of Brooklyn Center, Minn.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Everett Underwood and wife Lenora of Calendar; a brother-in-law, Delton White, of Des Moines; a sister, Lela and husband Ken Hoffman of Cambridge, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Van Bergen; a brother, Grant Underwood, a sister, Joyce White; a son-in-law, Michael Geariety.
