IOWA FALLS-Aldrich (A.J.) Meyer, 76, of Iowa Falls, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his home. Services were held Monday, Dec. 2, at the First Christian Church with burial in Union Cemetery. Rev. Darwin Cole officiated.

A.J. was born July 1, 1926 in New Hartford to George and Ella Meyer Meyer. On Aug. 19, 1950 he married Laura Mae Bunn in Iowa Falls. They farmed northwest of Iowa Falls in the Lee Center neighborhood and after her death he married Helen Abbas on Nov. 29, 1992 in Grinnell. He enjoyed working and having coffee with his friends.

He is survived by his wife Helen of Iowa Falls; a son Jim Meyer of Whitten; a daughter Barbara Briggs of Grinnell; two stepdaughters Rose Abbas and Patty Patten both of Brooklyn; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Lena Sweiter of Iowa Falls, Minnie Meyer of St. Paul, Minn. and Pearl Neilsen of Royal Oaks, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Laura Mae; four brothers, Sam, Tony, George (Shorty) and Harm Meyer; three sisters Esther Meyer, Mary Smith and Hannah Kennedy and an infant brother and sister.

Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
