ELDORA-Harold E. McStockard Sr., 83, of Eldora died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Union with burial at the Eldora City Cemetery. Pastor Roger Crawford and Pastor Bob Miller of Alden UCC Church will officiate. Full military honors will be provided by Walter-Sayer Post No. 182 of the American Legion and Roll-Harless No. 3974 of the V.F.W.

Harold was born April 19, 1919, in Eldora to John and Gina Erickson McStockard. He lived his entire life in Eldora and in 1939 he married Luella Godfrey and served in the United States Army in 1941-42. His first wife died in 1958 and he married Margie Duncan on Dec. 15, 1959, in Eldora. He was a floor installer for Ben Harris Furniture in Union and Vilmont Furniture in Eldora and more recently worked at Whink Products in Eldora from 1957-70. He enjoyed attending auctions and collecting old phonograph albums.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; six daughters, Susan Harris and husband Vern of Eldora, Kathryn Catherwood and husband Don of Union, Barbara Meiers of Eldora, Sheryl Rohlfsen and husband George of Wellsburg, Angela Blair and husband Danny of Alden, and Beverly Miller and husband Terry of Whitten; three sons, Lyle Marquis and wife Jenny of Cleveland, Ga., and Larry McStockard and wife Connie of Whitten, and Harold Jr. McStockhard and wife Saralynn of Steamboat Rock; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two sisters Faye McStockard and Mayme Shaw; and a brother, Raymond.

Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
