IOWA FALLS-Edward Joseph Hensing, 87, of Iowa Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. Funeral mass was held at Friday, Feb. 10 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Iowa Falls, with burial in St. Mark's Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his wife, Dorothy Hensing, 2920 River Oaks Road, Iowa Falls.

Edward was born Feb. 25, 1914, near Iowa Falls to John F. and Clara Kenninger Hensing. He attended Iowa Falls Community Schools and graduated in 1930. On Feb. 12, 1935, he married Alma "Dorothy" Modlin at Iowa Falls. They farmed in Franklin County until retiring to Iowa Falls. He was a member of St. Mark's Parish in Iowa Falls and the Iowa Falls Moose Lodge No. 1331.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Iowa Falls; a son, Frank Hensing, of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Katherine Lyon and her husband, Vance, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Jeff Lyon and wife, Teri, of Muscatine, Janet Lyon of Des Moines, and Wendy Lyon of Coralville; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Show and Laura Stang, both of Iowa Falls; and a brother, Russell Hensing and wife, Cleva, of Iowa Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Michael Lyon and a brother, Albert "Bert" Hensing.

Linn's Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
