ELDORA-C. Everett Foster, 87, of Eldora, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ivester Church of the Brethren, located east of Eldora to intersection of E Avenue and 250th St. in Grundy County, with burial in the Eldora Cemetery. Pastors Mary Jane and Tim Button-Harrison will officiate.

Everett was born July 7, 1914, at rural Whitten, to Charles and Anna Willard Foster. He attended country school and after his father's death moved with his family to Eldora where he graduated from Eldora High School in 1932. On Feb. 10, 1937, he married Lucille Moats at the Ivester Church of the Bretheren. He farmed in Hardin and Grundy counties and worked for Lavelle Oil Co. for 15 years. He retired from farming in 1970 but continued to help area farmers. He was a member of Ivester Church of the Bretheren where he served as treasurer and usher for many years and was a former member of Kiwanis.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Phyllis Harner and husband, Bill, of Eldora; a son, Richard Foster and wife, Lori, of Pinellas Park, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Steinfeldt of Eldora; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Ruby Graig and Gertrude White.

Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora, is in charge of arrangements.
